So what do you think?

This is one of the cards I just can't decide if I like. Very easy to make. Very coloful. I like the colors and I love the sentiment (from SU), but I am really on the fence with this one. Maybe it is that the lines are going horizontally....usually I make them go vertical. So tell me what do you think!?

A Guy Card

Another birthday card....but I am thinking that it is more of a guy card. It is cuttlebugged with a fun happy birthday embossing envelope.
Debbie asked where the cupcake stamp came from for the card two posts down. It is a hero stamps clear stamp. it came in a set.....you can see the set here....it is a clear design cupcake
I also went "crazy" and have ordered two more cupcake sets which i will show you as soon as i get a chance to play with them!
happy day!

A "Grown up" Card

So this is a bit more formal but I like classy so it works. The works look crooked in the picture but they aren't in real life. So this gets filed in the "grown up" section of my card box. You know those friends or family members that won't appreciate the cupcake cards or stripes and polka dots. There are those few that would appreciate something a bit more formal. So here you go.....

So the funny thing about this card is that it is made with scraps of some wedding thank yous I was asked to make. I totally hated the colors when I was told what they should be but as I played around and came up with this stamp and white paper to play with it was perfect. Now I like this paper and want to make more....it is just white paper stamped with old olive and a papertrey stamp. I am loving it!

Have a great weekend!

Cupcake Card

I love all the cupcake stuff I have been seeing in the cardmaking world. So of course I have jumped on the cupcake bandwagon.....and this is the first cupcake card I made with my new set of stamps! I am loving the set I choose and an anxiously waiting another set from eP! I can't wait. I also found some fun patterened paper at Target today covered in cupcakes so I'll be making some of those tonight!
Happy Thursday!

Simple Valentines

So all of these are made in minutes. A basic one layer card....well not totally one layer but this couldn't be more simple. All the circles are stickers with a page pebble overtop. It is very hard to see that in the picture. These first two cards have a square window punched in the first layer of the card so when you open the card the pebble is on the inside of that card.

But this just gives you the idea that simple and clean is also fun to do and sometimes it is just what you need.
I think the stickers with pebbles is all the embellishment the cards need and draws your eye right to that one accent.

So this last card is another simple one but it has a layer of cuttlebug-ged paper and a square with a punched out heart that is popped up for some dimension. I love this card too, but the only problem is i have no envelopes this size!!

Happy Valentines card making!

Happy Monday!

Here's a general occasion card. No sentiment on the inside our outside so it can be for anything. I like making cards without a sentiment because than I have a stash of anytime cards. The flower is actually out of felt with a rhinestone glued in the middle.

I'm not sure what's up with the picture of this card. I have tried to fix it and everything but it still looks warped, so I'm sorry for the looks of the picture. But in real life it is not warped and crazy looking.

This is my favorite layout for cards with patterned paper. I love how versatile it is and I can use it for any kind of card. This card also has my favorite line of paper....chatterbox. favorite embellishment......ribbon and favorite stamp line.......papertrey stamps.

Well have a great day and happy crafting!

Brown and Red Valentines Card

Well I broke away from my birthday card making and got two valentines done. This is my favorite so far. I love brown paper with almost any color. The patterned paper came out of my scrap bucket and the heart is a brad from making memories and the circle is from a box by colorbok (it has scalloped papers and flocked diecuts and alphabet in it. a great value at joann's 9.99 but I used a 50% off coupon so I am extra happy with this find!) The circle is chipboard with the letters raised with texture on them....hard to explain or show in the picture.
I really want to have some decorations for Valentines this year. My Valentine decor in the past is very minimal...as in nothing except a bowl full of those conversation hearts (I LOVE those!!). So i am thinking about making a Valentine Banner this year. And i know that will require a trip to the scrapbook store to get some fun paper.
Happy Wednesday!

If You Give A Girl a Stamp

So this was on another MB over on SCS and I had to share it here. I hope you all love it. It is so true of us stampers/scrappers. It is based on the "if you give a mouse a cookie" story.
If You Give a Girl a Stamp
By Tracy Harp

If you give a girl a stamp she‘ll want to make a card…she’ll need an ink pad to go with it.
She will spend hours pouring over colors trying to decide just the right one to buy.
In the end she’ll decide she just can’t choose so she’ll buy them all.

Then she’ll remember she’ll need card stock to match the ink so she’ll quickly add four packs of assorted paper to her list, oh and white, vanilla, black and kraft!Reading about certainly celery, purely pomegranate, pale plum and pumpkin pie will make her hungry so she’ll go to the kitchen for a snack.

While munching on cookies she’ll realize she needs ideas of what to do with the stamp. She’ll go to her computer and google rubber stamping. She’ll find a site called Splitcoaststampers. Wow!! So many techniques and ideas and a gallery that never ends. She’ll spend hours gazing at beautiful cards and projects.

Her eyes will become dry from staring at the computer screen. She’ll go to the bathroom for some drops.

On the way, she’ll pass her family sitting at the kitchen table waiting for dinner. She’ll quickly heat up some leftovers and try to pretend she hadn’t forgotten.

While talking about the days events, her son will bring out the school pictures he had gotten that day.

That will remind her she wanted a digital camera to take pictures of her cards so she can start her own SCS gallery. She’ll convince hubby of all the reasons the “family” needs a new camera. He will finally agree and she’ll head to the store to buy one.

On her way home she’ll pass by Joanns and remember she needs an Ott-Lite to go with the camera she just bought. While shopping for a light she’ll see aisles of paper, punches, embellishments and ribbon.

She’ll pick out a cart full of items but realize they don’t carry THE punch she saw used on a card she saved to her favorites. She’ll return home and go back to Splitcoaststampers to find out where to get THE punch.

Her search will lead her to someone’s blog where she’ll see a Starbucks bottle made into a cute candy container.

That will remind her she has some bottles in the recycling bin so she’ll go to the garage to rescue them from the trash. While in the garage she’ll see her son’s bike which will remind her she needs to buy a new helmet for his birthday.

Thinking about birthdays will remind her she wanted to bake some cupcakes for him to take to school. As she walks to the kitchen she’ll pass by the table and see the stamp.

The stamp will remind her that she wanted to make a card and she’ll probably want some…

Birthday Cards #2

This is my favorite card so far of the set I am making for my mother in law. Very simple, very white and can be for a child or grownup!
I am trying to fight a cold/sickness today so who knows what card making I'll get done. And I was feeling like I was on a card making roll this week. oh well. I think I'll go back to bed now
Happy "Stay Healthy" Saturday!

Birthday Cards

It is amazing what you can do when you aren't checking email, reading blogs and playing on the computer! I have got a lot done this week while the computer was in the "shop" but I sure missed my email! I even got a lot of card making time! My mother in law asked for more birthday cards (I try to keep her supplied with all her grand kids-almost 40) so I am working on those this week. So far i have done everyone differently, none are the same. This is odd for me because when I know I have a lot to make i usually find a few I really like and do them in mass but this time I am all about doing things differently. So enjoy these two.....one girly and one boy.
Simple is really my style. I really like the ones that are on white card stock, but sometimes they are a bit too simple so i am mixing it up!!
Happy weekend!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Yep, I am a few days late but I am here. We are having major computer issues in this house so I am blogging while I have a chance. I have no pictures to share as they are "stuck" in the other computer and this one seems to be going in, in the next few days for other issues. I haven't gotten back into the crafty part of my life yet but I have lots of ideas and things I would love to work on.

I hope all is well in the new year and your computers stay happy and healthy (who knew I was so dependant on email and typing!! I miss all my files sooo much!!)
