Talk to me Tuesday..Christmas Gifts

This Tuesday on Tip junkie she is asking us to share our homemade Christmas gifts from last year. So here are a few things I made last year.

Metal boards for hanging family pictures, notes, etc on with personalized magnets.
Albums for my mom and mother in law about the family reunions we attended for both families.
I made sugar cookies, put them in cute pizza boxes, and provided frosting and sprinkles in cute wrapped packaging and delivered to our neighbors and friends. Then each family could spend sometime together decorating their own cookies.

You can see them in this posting

After christmas this year I'll show gifts I have made for people this year!

Remember Stephanie of Nie Nie's Dialogues?

Remember when I posted about the plane crash and a fellow blogger who is recovering from burns, who has been a coma for 2 months...well here is an update from an Arizona paper.

It is a wonderful article and will bring you to tears. I look up to this family and the strength and love they share with the whole blogging world. You can also read more about all of the family on this blog

c jane is Stephanie's sister and has Stephanie's children living with her in Utah. She is amazing and loving, and so many things I can't even begin to say.
Amazing....love can heal, faith can heal and just read their story.
I don't know them in real life, but hope to be able to share their story so others can find the faith, love and thankfulness we need for each day of our lives.

A little Fancy

So I was talking to one of my closest friends the other day...just a regular old chat, and she mentioned that she bought cards at the store!! I mean that is just wrong wrong wrong...you never buy cards from the store-no matter how desperate you are-if you know me. I should be making you cards to give away...all my closest friends know to just show up on the doorstep and we will either "whip up" some cards, or you can start going through all my boxes of cards to find what you need. If you guys didn't know this than you do now!!!

I was making these cards for said friend last night and I love the paper and didn't want to try to find something else that would work with these colors so...look at these cards in this order.....

Can you tell I was running out of paper? The patterned paper gets smaller and smaller as I was creating so I could use very inch of it and not waste it! I still love each card though.

The papered paper is Sassafras, the sentiments are PTI, and the red and grey papers are bazzill.

Have a great weekend!!

Christmas Tags

So I have a great friend who hosts swaps every month and I haven't been swapping with them but when I remembered that this month was Christmas tags, and got her email I was all ready to sign up again. Each person makes 14 of the same tag and turns them into my friend, she gives out one of each kind to each person and you get back a bag of beautiful handmade Christmas tags for your Christmas gifts! WE have done this a few years now and I have learned to sign up for 2 spots so I can keep some for myself...I always have a few favorites that I can't part with.

This first tag is made with all basic grey papers, punched with a big scalloped punch, PTI sentiment stamp, ribbon, and some rhinestones...very easy.

This one is red bazzill paper, a large snowflake that was intended to be an ornament on a mini tree, and a sentiment from an inkadoo set.

Thanks for visiting...and I'll get back to working on some Christmas gifts!

Travel Tags

If you have ever traveled on the plane you know that once you get to baggage claim almost all the bags are black. And so are our families....so this past summer a few hours before we got on the plane I made these tags. Our luggage has never had fancy tags on them that had our information so on the back of these are our names, phone numbers, home address and who we are staying with. I can change it out often since I hand wrote it all and didn't glue it down. We have had our luggage "lost" at least twice i can think of and it was on our outbound flight so I find it important to list a phone number and place for where we will be staying on vacation.

Usually I tie matching ribbons on all of our bags but sometimes those are even hard to see. This time when the luggage came around the circle we could see our clearly. I think they are fun and cute, my husband thinks I can't go anywhere without something "scrapbooked"...I guess he is right.

One last thing....these tags are NOT PINK! They are red and white polka dotted. So they stand out great on our baclk luggage. They also are made with ID tags I got at the dollar store.
